Cressington Park, South Liverpool
To upgrade this house for contemporary family life, we reorganised the ground floor layout, removed some earlier lightweight extensions and introduced a new single-storey extension to provide a large family/dining/kitchen area. Frameless bi-fold doors and a wide granite patio beyond further extends the sense of space and improves the connection with the large rear garden.
Within a Conservation Area, the design and choice of materials for the extension is contemporary, yet sympathetic to the colours of the existing house. Weathering bronzed copper cladding with a projecting and tapering form provides solar shading to the extensive glazing whilst optimising views and daylight.
Client Testimonial
“We used Cass for a large project on our home, transforming the back of our house in to what is now our main family area. Richard and Andrew were our contacts, always polite, well-mannered and professional. We were presented with ideas of how the finished project could look and they worked together with our own ideas and requests to produce what is a stunning piece of architecture. Richard and Andrew made sure everything was on track and although we had a wonderful team of builders, any awkward conversations that may have been necessary they dealt with discreetly and ensured everything was as it should be. I was pregnant when the project began and had to live through quite an upheaval with a new born, 15-month-old and 6-year-old. I can honestly say I’d have struggled to get through that period had these wonderful men not been involved! Thank you so much for our beautiful home.”
